YR5099 (1931 8-Litre Barker boat-tail tourer) Owner: F. Miller
"From his home in Scotland the original owner, Sir P. Malcolm Stewart, ordered this '31 8 liter boattail tourer to add to his impressive collection of motorcars. YR5099 was very similar to the Speed Six that was built for the 1930 Olympia Car Show. At some point the car was converted to a drophead coupe and it wasn't until sometime in the 70's and early 80's that it was restored by James McHarg to its original splendor. Teardrop front wings cleanly point toward the pontoon-style running boards, making a very stylish art deco tourer." — From the article 'Ultimate Hill Climb: Yosemite Inter-Regional', Text by Martin Mayer, CA and photos By Harold Pope, CA& Richard Murray, CA

Chassis YR5099
Having removed a non-standard four door tourer body, the original two seater Boatail coachwork was recreated from just one archive picture.
A very interesting body featuring hinged tonneau panel and disappearing hood, Dickey seat and lift-up tail section revealing the spare wheel stowage.
