| More Info: | According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1732 with a (as 1731); black / silver line; 7/1931. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "F/8024. Vanden Plas body no. 1732. Demonstrator. Gurney Nutting sedanca coupe fitted 1932/35 - original body probably fitted to YR5097. Wilson pre-selected box then F box again. Gearbox and engine in 4 Litre special EYT 970. In pieces (1997)." Also: "(This car was) originally a demonstrator for Jack Barclay's. Subsequently purchased by racing driver Whitney Straight... As far as is known, the Gurney Nutting body of GP 31 disintegrated and the chassis was dismantled." |
