"1929 BENTLEY 4.5 LTR LE MANS WITH CONTINUOUS HISTORY
Registration Number: MY 1748 Chassis Number: XF3514 Engine Number: PL3495
Price: £ POA
This late 1929 vintage Bentley benefits from her original late pattern chassis and self wrapping brakes. The subject of no expense spared maintainance and restoration with a full engine rebuild within the last 1000 miles. Purposeful in her appearance, her stance is aided by that long bonnet which was favoured for the team cars and in fact specified from Vanden Plas by her first owner in 1929.
The continuous history shows the second owner keeping her until 1957 and the last family for 50 years."

"Bonhams are offering at auction on 29th April 2013 a 4.5, chassis number FB3324. Having inspected the car and the history file there seems to be some confusion with that and the listings on your excellent website. The chassis was replaced by Bentley in 1929 under warranty which explains why it is a heavy frame and has 4 rivet fitted dumb irons. It is listed as having the chassis frame of XF3513, but in fact it has the engine XF3513. The engine number quoted SR 1407 (a 3-litre) was indeed in the car when purchased by the owner (in 1960), but this was removed and replaced with XF3513 during restoration by Ian Lock in 1976.
The chassis is correctly stamped FB3324 on the NSF dumb iron and on the NS cross member. I do trust you will be able to update your records accordingly."
