Recent work includes new wire wheels and tires, new brakes and brake drums, new clutch, complete engine rebuild including Phoenix counter balanced crankshaft and rods, Arias domed pistons, hardened valve seats, etc. New leather interior and wool carpets. Captain W.O. Bentley didn't ignore the details of the car, which included the winged red Bentley badge on the radiator, and the functional antidazzle devices on the large headlights. This car is a 'red Lable' Speed Model and still carries its original Vanden Plas fabric-covered body.
The Speed Model was built for motorists who liked to tear it up on the often muddy and unpaved open roads of the day. The current owners of this car participated in the Bentley Drivers Club Euro 2000 Rally from England to Lake Como, Italy and back. A total of approximately 3,500 miles with no problems. The car was also driven to this event from Tampa, Florida."
