The following incorrect information by Michael Hay is found in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Crashed 1929 and rebuilt on new frame - ?ch 20. ch. 20 crashed 1929 also rebuilt on new frame. Brogden bought 3 Litre ch. 20 eng SR 1404 reg WU 3989 1964. Subsequently sold and re-reg as BM 8287 see ch. 20 and EXP 1 under "Non-Production Chassis". There is another car extant numbered PH 1475 - Vanden Plas 4 seater by Townshend, registered in Scandinavia."
"It is the same car being talked about in both instances. The car was in Scandinavia for a number of years after being rebooted prior to being repatriated to the UK. I would be grateful if you amend the records to reflect this."

Quoting from Stanley Mann's website as of January 24, 2009:
1926 Bentley 3 Litre VDP Red Label Speed Model
Chassis Number: PH 1475; Engine Number: SR 1404 (engine no. mentioned in October 2008 was SR1401 — perhaps a typo, but not sure which one is correct — VintageBentleys.org); Registration Number: BF 4359
"High quality restoration on this Bentley Red Label Speed model... Lots of interesting history." Stanley Mann adds, "Restored by RC Moss 1979-1989, well, you don't want to be rushed (and he is the top vintage Bentley restorer), then stored in a heated garage from 1989-2006... She is now running like clockwork and is a joy to drive."

The Stanley Mann Racing website provides the following description — to quote Stanley Mann: "The history from the Works records show that this Bentley had two accidents in her first few years but survived by the fitting of replacement frames by the factory. This means that her continuous history and her integrity remain intact. So, yes you’ve guessed, it’s real without the matching number game that somehow some dealers think adds some value. In my book, total crap... Now I’ve got that off my chest let’s talk Bentleys."
Mann further adds that the car was restored by R.C. Moss, 1979-1989. He also says, "This quality restoration has remained in a private collection since 1990 until today... It’s been stored and looked after in a heated garage but unused since 1990. Car runs and drives well."
