Car is currently (2007) in France and Registered No. 1926 YP 14.

Five years ago the owner bought NR 505 from Mr. Hine in England. At that time it was an original 3 litre with a green Gurney Nutting 4 seater tourer as shown on the photographs posted Nov. 23, 2006 (below).

Last year he wanted to change the car and asked Richard Cresswell of VBE Restorations to think about a reconstruction of NR505. This reconstruction in now finished and, though it is not an original 4.5 litre LeMans Team car, it is "my car with my own specifications".

What was done

* Took off the complete body and sold it to a Bentley collector.
* Changed the rails of the chassis to a 9' 9" length.
* Put a new Vanden Plas body reproduction on the chassis.
* Rebuilt the gear box with a D box.
* Rebuilt the engine to 4.5 litre upgrated to 5.3 litre, but kept the original block.
* Rebuilt all the car to the highest specifications.

(The complete story of the car since 1926, including a list of the previous owners, log books, some picture and files of notes and invoices from the past are pending.)

The current owner says: "When you compare the cars on the market and the quality of the job done by Richard Creswell from VBE and his "dream team", you can see a LeMans replica made to the highest specifications, and really the best Vintage Bentley Replica I have seen in my life — a personal car made to be driven by me. We came as close as we could to arrive to the best. My regret is that I killed an original car to have the car I wanted. I want to apologize to W. O. — but please look at this car!!!"
