"The information in Hay's book is incorrect.
After restoring the car, the chassis is the original one which has had damage to the rear nearside which was straightened and rewelded at some time in the past. The only part of the car that is from 1071 is the rear axle casing."

| More Info: | According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1316 with a standard 4-seater Sports; scratched aluminium / black; 11/1926. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 1316. Rediscovered 1983 after many years in a barn. Rebuilt with chassis 1071 1933 - see 1071. Engine and chassis LT1596 fitted to chassis 1071 by Carlton Forge 8/33." |
