Chassis No. LT1576. Very complete documentation of a significant 3 Litre. The body is an original Vanden Plas Lemans factory race team unit installed on this chassis about 1936, probably by H.M Bentley. H.M. specialized in refurbishing used vintage Bentleys. This body is believed to be from “Old No. 7” winner of the 1927 24 hours of LeMans.
We have driven this car nearly 30,000 miles since 1993, including a cross-country drive in 1995 and a 2,000 mile Alaska Tour in 2005. In between it’s been on a half-dozen North American Vintage Bentley Meets and another six CCCA CARavans in the U.S. and Canada. 26 states and 4 Provinces in all. We rebuilt the engine just prior to the Alaska tour and it will do almost 500 to a quart of oil. It cruises well at 60 mph and we have had it past 85 mph. This is a great driving Classic Sports car of the quality that seldom shows on the market.
