"Western Australian State Library records show that the original bodies for this car and its sibling LR2785 were built at Bryan's Motor Body Works, 422A Hay Street Perth, for the W A Police Department. This is also mentioned in the contemporary press. The State Library has a photograph of one of the cars under construction at Bryan's Motor Body Works in its photograph collection.
Above is the only known photo of the Western Australian police Bentley cars under construction at Bryants Motor Body Works, 622A Hay Street Perth. (The original is a glass plate negative, probably 4" by 5", held in the State Library of Western Australia. It was published in Western Australia's "Truth" newspaper, a weekly, 17 August 1930 on page 7.)
The photo is captioned:
NIGHT PATROL'S BENTLEY CAR — Bryan's Motor Body Works in Hay-street, are now completing the first body for the Police Department's new Bentley "Flying Squad's" car. "Truth's" special photo shows the work in progress. A start has already been made by Bryan's on the second police speed car."
