| More Info: | According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1294 with a 4-seater Speed model for Le Mans 24 Hour race; 6/1926. Team car driven by Kidston. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 1294. 1926 Le Mans car. Fitted 4� Litre engine UK 3297 1936 - LM 1342 was in ch. RE 1400, now back in this chassis. D box, registered 803 PMN. Rebuilt for 1927 Le Mans but not used (YF 2503 ch. ML substituted). "8/27 prepared for Boulogne." (Boillot Cup races.)" |
