1930 Bentley 6½ Litre SP2 Saloon (Weymann)
1930 Speed 6, Reg No: GJ 6122, Engine No: KR 2683, Chassis No: KR 2677

This genuine Speed 6 chassis, 11'6" wheelbase one of 182 manufactured, was completed and tested on 31st October 1929 and first registered in May 1930. The car was originally fitted with a Weyman saloon body made by Harle Body Corporation. It still has its original engine and "C" gearbox and registration number.

The car re-bodied with a Le Mans replica body by McKenzie Guppy 17 years ago and was brought up to Le Mans specification including 3:1 rear axle ratio. Three years ago the previous owner overhauled the engine fitting a Phoenix crank and conrods and did everything else necessary to make the car mechanically perfect so as to make it a very reliable and good looking long distance tourer. He drove the car from Berlin to Moscow 2 years ago.

The car which is registered in England successfully participated in the Jewel that is Jordan tour in May this year before being shipped to South Africa to participate in this tour.

"Full ground up rebuild by top vintage Bentley restorer some 15 years ago, then little used but with some £75,000 spent last year to bring this fabulous Speed Six to full rally/race condition.

With bomb proof engine spec and still in concours condition maybe a late entry to Peking-Paris? Could be the box you've yet to tick.

Having driven her today I'm having trouble writing this as my computer is balanced on my knees cause I don't want to get out of the driving seat."
