1928 Bentley 4½ Litre Saloon (Weymann)
Chassis No. HF3190
Engine No. HF3190 / HF3188
Registration No. UC 6531
"1928 Bentley 4.5 Litre Tourer
Make: Benltey
Model: 4 1/2 Litre Tourer.
Year: 1928
Price: £380,000 (approx €514,938 euros)
Chassis number: HF3190
Engine Number: HF3188
Registration number: UC6531
In Magnificent condition: This car had a stem to stern rebuild in 2004 at the behest of USA Bentley club chairman Ed Gehringer. Since then it has completed some rallies & done a limited number of pleasure trips.
The car started life as An H. J. Mulliner Weymann saloon before the current Vanden Plas style tourer body was fitted. The result is a very rakish narrow bodied open tourer that turns heads wherever it goes.
A folding windscreen is fitted & the twin glass side deflectors unscrew to cunningly form Aeroscreens when the main screen is folded flat.
The car breathes through twin SU slopers. Dual Ignition is via a scintilla magneto to the drivers side & coil to the passengers side. A laycock overdrive is also fitted giving the car very very long legs & the ability to run with & ahead of modern traffic. The car starts instantly & pulls very very strongly. An electric fan is fitted for additional summer cooling duties.
Period correct Marchal headlamps adorn the front The dash is covered in the requisite correct instrumentation, & the two non standard gauges (oil & temp) are about to be changed for period correct items prior to sale.
The car is finished in a deep green colour with the paint being in perfect show order. A full tonneau cover comes with the car & the hood is in excellent condition, although we do not expect it to be raised often. Behind the rear seats is a useful storage compartment for tools & other ancillaries. The spare wheel is rear mounted.
The best part of this car is the way it looks & the way it drives. Coachwork is light & minimal. On the road the car strong & robust. It is a car ready to go & needing nothing doing at all."
