No. KW 4077 was corrected to show FT3218 (as against the previously recorded 'FT3217'): "I would be grateful if you could correct the Chassis Number for my Bentley Registration No. KW4077. The correct Chassis Number is FT3218 and not FT3217. The Vanden Plas records are correct which is confirmed by the service records and the numbers on the car. According to Stanley Sedgwick's book All the Pre-War Bentleys — As New, Chassis No. FT3217 belongs to a car originally owned by a Mr. T. E. Barr Smith Jnr. There is no Registration No. recorded for it though." ============================================================= Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "D/7133. Vanden Plas body no. 1511. In same family from new." |
