Professional and business-like for the sportsman.

Constantly improved late 4 1/2 with all the components prepared for the blower-series. Top-performance, safe mechanics and stunning optics. Last 10-years-owner was sports-driver and automotive-dealer with all necessary resources and the proper know-how.

Vehicle History
Started life in 1930 with Charleswort saloon body and was rebodied soon by James Grieve/Scotland into an open touer. In this family until 1987, than rebodied again by P.May in 1993/94 with Pierce LeMans-style fabric tourer. Since 1996 with last german owner.

Driving details
10´1´0´´ standard chassis 0,188 gauge. Heavy crankshaft and increased power-output of 151 hp. 95 mph and more easily achievable. The ultimate drivers car with great opportunities in motorsport. Everything in perfect working order.

Y.O.C. and Amount
After the soft 6 1/2 of 1925 there was demand for a more powerfull 4-cylinder succeeding the famous 3 Litre. In 1927 the 4 1/2 arrived and was built until 1931 in 665 units. Rebodying was and is most usual since every W.O. is a motorcar for more than one generation.

Possible Applications
Ideal for fast rallying and with some modifications for the track as well. Typical W.O.Bentley "steamengine" for the enthusiast. Not recommended for boulevard-riding.

Technical Data
The dimensions are 100 x 140 mm and 4.398 cc with an output of 110 hp at 3.000 RPM in basic outfit. 4-valves and overhead camshaft. 1997 engine-rebuild and installation of a Phoenix-crankshaft and other items which resulted in 151 hp at 3.25o RPM on the brake. Diagram available.

Test Drive
The C-box makes her a perfect instrument for the real thing. Tight and powerfull handling. A car which makes You arrive inside the first 10 cars at Brescia after having taken part in the final test of the Bentley-versus-Mercedes-fraction after Cremona. If you have the guts and the strength.

Good To Know
If a real Bentley is needed this is it. A blower does not perform much better but does get you into trouble more often. But attention: Not recommended for softies. The author knows car and driver for the last 10 years...

Recently I went to the Meilenwerk here [Wuppertal German]. It is a large building with several dealers and numerous glass containers to store your classic cars. The car shown is being stored by its owner.
