"The 3-litre Bentley Chassis No 940 Reg No PP3275 once owned by my father, is now back in the U.K. for a limited time. It is over here from Australia for The Bentley Drivers Club 75 anniversary, and is touring England and the continent. I am going to see it on Saturday at Ironstone Lane the headquarters of the BDC."

"The car is in the U.K., from Australia, for the Bentley Drivers Club 75th anniversary.

I saw and heard the car (the present owner started the engine for me) at The Bentley Drivers Club rally at the B.D.C headquarters in Oxford. The photos show me (with the tie and stick) and the present owner who brought the car over from Australia for a tour of Britain and the Continent."

Photograph was taken at a Bentley Drivers Club meeting at the Police Headquarters in Hutton near Preston Lancashire. The man in the flat cap smoking a pipe is my father. In front of my father, Henry Philip Rippon, is my brother (a fighter pilot in W.W. II) and in between them, his head just visible, is another of my brothers. We were a large family of five boys and two girls!!
