"I owned this car in the early fifties when I was living in London but studying medicine in Edinburgh. I bought it for £100 and a few weeks later set off to Edinburgh. It broke down near Darlington and the garage had it for about a year while I sent them small sums to pay for the repairs. Once I had it back I realised that it had a very crude 'boys racer' body so I sold it in order to buy my present original 4½ VDP tourer. I sold the 3 litre to Peter Rae whose father had a shop-fitting firm and was able to make a very nice tourer body. I never saw it again after I sold it but I did notice a photo of it some years ago for sale at £65,000!"
