"Through help from a friend I was able to contact the grandsons of the first owner Colonel James Walker of Mirfield, Hopton Yorkshire and found that they still live in the property in which the car was first garaged.

The Colonel had an illustrious First World War and received, amongst other medals, the DSO and Bar. Next year I intend to take the car to show them and, briefly, put it in its original garage!

I hope this adds some interesting personal history to KU 5155.

I should have mentioned that this car is very original. Still has the original engine and VDP body number 1087.

It was the subject of amateur restoration by myself and the previous owner, Mr Ian W A S Rogers during 1989 to 1992 and has been 'on the road' ever since"

"I am the sixth owner. Bought by Ian Rogers in 1939. Used until 1954 then taken off the road with the intention of restoration. Sat in his garage for 35 years. In 1989 Rogers & Barton finally set about restoration. This was completed in three years. Has been in use ever since. Visited, France, Australia & New Zealand."
