"My first car, it was lovely and we did a few jobs to tidy it a bit, as the wings were tatty. I had to sell in August 1958. Pleased to see it is still loved."

Clive Beale specified the four seater sports coachwork by Vanden Plas with twin spare wheels and with the screen height adjusted so that he would comfortably look through the middle of the panel. The body colour was originally unvarnished grey, with beige hood, with side curtains in grey twill Individual features included a different placement of the single tail lamp and the fitting of a luggage rack, spotlight on screen, screen wiper and a 'four wheel brakes' plate at the rear. Low geared steering fitted in 1936.

More Info: According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 1073 with a 4-seater Sports; grey; 7/1924. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "New - BA 688 FA 368 S/col 683 G/box A/355. Vanden Plas body no. 1073."
