| More Info: | According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 3183; with an Allweather No. 1 (sample) ordered by Bentley Motors Ltd., 3rd February, 1922, £300; aluminium and black. The first Vanden Plas bodied Bentley. It was completed in April 1922. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body No. 3183. The first sample Vanden Plas body ordered by G A Peck (a director of Bentley Motors Ltd) 3/2/22 completed 13/4/22 - for �332.15.11." |
