"This exceptionally well known Vintage Bentley has been competing on tracks, rallying, and just being enjoyed over many years.

Built in to this form some 40 odd years ago... Fast, reliable and very practical I would expect to see this Bentley continuing to entertain any proper Bentley chap.

I must say racing round tracks for some 30 years most of the time I came up against this Bentley all I ever saw of her was the back… let's say quick, no, let's say bloody quick and this from a road car, not just a track special.

Packed with goodies like a Laystall bomb-proof engine, D type close ratio gearbox, 4½ litre steering box and lots more."

My father as a young man loved Bentley cars long before they became fashionable — he is dead now but would have been in his 90s.

I have two photos of his cars. Not sure of the exact dates but one is at least 60 years ago as my sisters are sitting on the running board as very small children.

The cars obviously have two number plates and they are showing on the photos. The odd thing is that the two number plates match the opposite cars to those shown here (i.e. on this website). Do you think he changed them? The PR 1683 car in the photo looks to me (not an expert) like the OL 5099 shown here and vice versa.

I think we have some information somewhere, which we can dig out. I certainly have these two photos, which I can send through if anyone is interested.
