"My father, Donald Armstrong, owned this car in the early 1950s. In those days he lived in Newnham-upon-Severn. (He sold it in order to buy his beloved 1928 4½ UO 6888). He told me that he had heard it had been written off by the person to whom he sold it. (This might track with the current posted description). I have about 4 photos of it being rallied in UK."

"The car wasn't written off in the sense of today, where it would be scrapped, but it was involved in a rather serious accident. The car was rebuilt with the current body and a new engine. Car last known in South Africa in 2007 when it was for sale."
