More Info: According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder records, this car was originally fitted with Body No. 3258 with a saloon; egg-shell finish. Driven by Pike. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 3258. Used for experimental work. From the Works Service Records: 11/24 experimental mag drive. 6/28 experimental front axle with Servo brakes. 11/28 bottom half of engine EXP 6 fitted (EXP 6 Was a 4� Litre engine). 10/29 EXP 6 bottom half fitted to ST 3001. Bottom half of ST 3001 fitted to 236. Eng 236 fitted to ch. NR 520 (also Pike's car)."
