| More Info: | Number 3246 ex chassis 1219, transferred by HM Bentley circa 1933. Currently (2007) has Vanden Plas 1917 Ltd body. The Vanden Plas body which was originally on Chassis No. 219 was transferred to Chassis No. 1219 in 1933. Vanden Plas Body No. 3246 was the third Sports 4 Seater made by Vanden Plas for Bentley and has the earlier features: Rear door opening forward; Fabricated stiffening brackets instead of cast aluminum; Beaton seat runners; Lack of diagonal stiffeners from body side to bulkhead; Slightly wider body width. Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Believed extant (1992), fitted engine 777 ex ch. 763. Reconditioned for resale Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd ca 1933 with Vanden Plas 4 seater." |
