At one point during the race the car reportedly took off, about 20 feet above the ground, at which point no wheels were in contact with the ground, as confirmed by the driver, Stanley Mann. The time record was revised likewise, from 154 mph (as initially recorded by Robert Ford - official UK timekeeper) to 148 mph.

Michael Hay, in his book Bentley: The Vintage Years, 1997, states: "Vanden Plas body no. 1203. Now 2 seater by Williams & Pritchard fitted 6½ Litre engine HM 2865 modified to 8 Litre. D box. Millbrook record car." |
