According to Michael Hay's "Bentley: The Vintage Years" - 1997, "No. 9 was driven by Duff and Clement in the 1925 Le Mans, the first of the "black" Le Mans... No. 9 was then fitted with a Weymann single-seat body to take the World's 24 Hours Record at 95.03 mph at Montlhery on the 21st/22nd September 1925. Finally No. 9 was fitted with a Macquet Galvier saloon body and sold to Ronald Leon. The true identity of MD7187? Chassis No. 1040, registered YM7646 with Vanden Plas body no. 1148."
