Accompanying text reads: E. Bowler's Bentley-engined Bowler-Hofman-Special which appeared first as a 3-litrey later as a 4 1/2-litre, and in the latter form, driven by Oliver Bertram, lapped at 128.03 m.p.h. It is here seen in the 1937 "500", in which it lapped at 115.82 m.p.h. before retiring.
