I purchased this car (Reg. No. MS5563 / Chassis No. (RC)951) from Tony Stickler. It was (re) built about 20 years ago by him from a few chassis bits!! Hence the RC prefix from the BDC. This is listed under chassis 951 in the Hay book "Bentley: The Vintage Years". Current Engine No 499 (Ex Chassis No. 493 Stated as built into a bitsa).

I know it's not an "original" matching numbers car but it is great fun and embodies the spirit of Bentley. There is some work to do on it and I have almost completed the replacement of the side water gallery plates, new tappets and overhauling the carburetters. Then there is the tinkering to things like the brakes, replacing the headlights etc... Lots to do but they are jobs that don't preclude its use!

Never thought I would own one, boyhood dream come true.

Destined to be my daughter's wedding car in July 2007... if we can manage to get her into and out of the Vanden Plas bodywork! (doors? what doors?)
